Bio
● Chris is a materials scientist and engineer with 25 years of experience across the tire, synthetic rubber/elastomers, rubber chemicals, and plastics industries. His background bridges the areas of materials chemistry, compound formulation, processability, and product application performance (including failure behavior), with a focus on polymer materials (especially elastomers and rubber compounds). Over the years, Chris worked on a wide range of product applications including tires, hoses, seals, anti-vibration systems, roofing membranes, tank linings, and conductive elastomer interconnects.
● Experience includes working for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, ExxonMobil Chemical, Eastman Chemical, and Endurica LLC
● Co-inventor of 32 patents and co-author of 73 publications in peer-reviewed journals (citation h-index = 38)
● Recipient of awards from ACS Rubber Division, Tire Society, and Society of Plastics Engineers
● Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech (polymer science focus) and 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at U.S. Naval Research Lab (Chemistry Division; Polymer Physics Group)
● Editor-in-Chief of peer-reviewed journal Rubber Chemistry and Technology
